The Saskatoon Police Serious Assault Unit continues to investigate a Monday afternoon incident in which two people were struck by a vehicle.
An S-P-S news release said that officers were called to the 100 block of Avenue S South at about 3 p.m. on September 2 regarding an altercation involving a knife. Upon arrival, police found a man lying in an alley, suffering from serious injuries. The man told officers he had been hit by a vehicle before being taken to hospital for further treatment. Further investigation showed that a female had been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle. Both victims were believed to have been hit by the same vehicle in the same alley. Officers located a knife in a subsequent search of the alley. Police believe the victims and driver of the vehicle were known to each other. The driver turned himself into the S-P-S Service Centre where he was taken into custody and later released pending further investigation. Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is asked to contact Saskatoon Police or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
