It was the first of at least 13 head-to-head meetings, a 4-1 victory for the home-standing Prince Albert Raiders over the arch-rival Saskatoon Blades.
Sophomore forward Oli Chenier and freshman hopeful Ty Meunier paced P-A with a goal and an assist each. The Raiders never trailed in the quickly-played, competitive contest – out-shooting the Bridge City Bunch 37-18. Jonah Sivertson and Ben Harvey also tallied for Prince Albert while Colten Worthington scored the lone goal for the Blue and Gold. The teams will play each other twice more in the pre-season, next weekend, then collide 10 times in the regular campaign. Saskatoon’s next action is Friday in Brandon, then they host the Wheat Kings Sunday at 4 o’clock at SaskTel Centre. CJWW will have the broadcast of that game, beginning at 3:45 p.m. Following are post-game interviews Les Lazaruk did with head coach Dan Da Silva and defenceman Brayden Klimpke plus the official game summary, courtesy the W-H-L…..
