Despite a slight pullback in home sales, August marked the fourteenth consecutive month of above average sales and year-to-date sales remain at seven per cent higher than levels reported last year.
That’s according to the Saskatchewan Realtors Association monthly report.
SRA CEO Chris Guerette says, “Saskatchewan’s relative affordability, when paired with employment gains and falling unemployment rates, continues to support strong housing demand in our province.”
The City of Saskatoon reported 457 sales last month, which is 13 per cent lower than August of 2023, but despite that, sales were still 14 per cent above the 10-year average.
The SRA says limited supply options continue to prevent stronger home sales in Saskatoon, and the tight market means higher prices for homes with a record benchmark price of $404,900 in August, and 8 per cent rise from last year.
Regina’s home sales in August were up 8 per cent year-over-year with a benchmark price of $319,7000, up three per cent from August 2023.
