Second and third year students at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law will begin work placements at Public Prosecutions and Legal Aid offices as early as this week.
Two students will be earning a credit by spending the fall semester in Moose Jaw and Prince Albert, and three students will be moving to North Battleford and Melfort to shadow a mentor for the winter semester.
These students will get the opportunity to learn and practice legal advocacy skills, research legal issues, prepare legal documents, and attend trials.
This opportunity was made possible with a $100,000 investment in practical learning placements from the provincial government made earlier this summer.
Applications for next semester’s placements are open until November 18, 2024.
