A 38-year-old Saskatoon man faces multiple charges after a late Sunday evening arrest when he fired a carbon dioxide weapon.
A Saskatoon Police Service news release says police responded to a weapons complaint at about 11:50 p.m. on September 8 in the 100 block of Riel Crescent. Officers received further en route to scene saying that someone had been shot at and the suspect had driven away. With a description of the vehicle and the corresponding license plate, police spotted the vehicle on Clarence Avenue and Taylor Street East. Officers executed a high-risk traffic stop and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. It’s believed the suspect and victim were known to each other. The suspect faces two charges each of possession of a weapon and assault plus one count each of mischief, impaired driving and failure to comply with a peace officer demand without reasonable excuse.
