In 2025, the Moose Jaw Police Service will say goodbye to their current Police Chief, Rick Bourassa, as he has just announced his retirement.
Today, Bourassa publicly announced he will be retiring next year after 45 years in policing. During his time in Moose Jaw, he has served as President of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police, on the Board of Directors Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, been the Chair of the Provincial Executive Committee of Criminal Intelligence Services Saskatchewan and participated in the National Executive Committee of Criminal Intelligence Services Canada.
Bourassa says he made the decision to retire with mixed emotions, however after a lengthy career, it is time for him to “move into the next chapter of life and whatever that may hold.”
The Board of Police Commissioners will now begin the search of finding someone to fill his position. In January, when a new Board of Police Commissioners is appointed, Chief Bourassa will determine his official retirement date.
