Thirteen projects focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Saskatchewan will benefit from a recent investment from the province.
The government has announced more than $25 million through the Saskatchewan Technology Fund to support these industry-driven projects, which hold more than $277 million in additional private sector and government investment.
The province says the investment “will ensure the sustainability of Saskatchewan industries and drive forward technologies that will lead to a cleaner, more prosperous future.”
The projects include market-ready technologies, innovations and improvement techniques, which will aim to reduce methane emissions from venting and flaring, upgrade equipment to enhance energy efficiency, and deploy carbon capture and storage technologies.
The projects are expected to result in the reduction of more than 4,595,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
