The “There’s No Place Like Hope” capital campaign has received a big boost with the Cas and Marie Broda Family Foundation & Gord and Barb Broda Family donating $500,000 to help bring inclusive care to Saskatoon for children with complex medical needs.
Hope’s Home provides families with a safe and inclusive environment for their children to play and be kids regardless of their medical needs. The Saskatchewan non-profit has the only centres of its kind in Canada, with inclusive child care open right now in Regina, Prince Albert and Warman.
CEO and Founder of Hope’s Home, Jacqueline Tisher, says this donation will fund two inclusive classrooms at the new Saskatoon child care centre, offering opportunities for education, creative arts, story time, and open play areas. This medically inclusive child care centre features two separate centres for 144 kids in total from six weeks to six years old, with on-site nursing care, early childhood educators, developmental workers and physical development consultants.
