Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area is getting about 1,800 new trees and shrubs in five different areas, upgrades from a dirt path to a trail, and a new swing gate.
The City of Saskatoon says the work began about a week ago and will continue until November.
The trail being improved is closed as work continues but alternative routes are available.
Parking is available at the southwest off-leash recreation area parking lot and southeast parking lots
The City asks residents not to use the parking lot at the northeast entrance because it’s owned by TransGas and needs to be clear for their service vehicles.
Dogs should be on-leash when outside the designated Southwest Off-Leash Recreation Area.
