A 19-year-old man has been charged following a shooting Tuesday evening on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation—about 70 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.

A man was located in a home with gunshot wounds and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, Christopher Ballantyne of the Ahtahkakoop First Nation was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm with intent and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Ballantyne appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday.
