The unseasonable warm weather felt across Saskatchewan last week is expected to taper off in the coming days.
Although there were two days last week that saw temperature records broken in Saskatchewan, the weather this long weekend will be on par with what’s expected at this time of year.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Justin Share says in the 1960’s, the Saskatoon area recorded temperatures up to 28 degrees at this time.
“We’re not really expecting temperatures to reach that high next week, but still pretty nice. We’re looking at maybe 20 degrees, high teens, kind of in the Saskatoon area and even toward Regina, as well.”
Although not record breaking, these temperatures are still above average. Share says the average temperature for this time of year is an 11-degree high with a low of zero.
On a separate weather note, several callers to the newsroom reported dense fog on their travels west and south of Saskatoon this morning.
“In general, before people do decide to travel or anything like that, check up on the latest forecasts, advisories, watches and warnings just to make sure they have the latest information so they can make plans accordingly.”
