Saturday morning shortly before 10:30 a.m., Saskatoon Police Service dispatched officers to a weapons complaint at a business in the 100 block of Circle Drive West. Police were told there was a fight involving a knife. When officers arrived, a suspect was in the custody of the business’ security staff. A 20-year-old man was arrested, and police say a knife believed to have been used in the altercation was located. Charges include assault, possession of a weapon, concealing a weapon, and failure to comply with court ordered conditions.
Early on the weekend, four people were arrested following a traffic stop where a firearm was located. Around 7:30 p.m. on Friday police spotted a vehicle in the 400 block of 8th Street East believed to have been involved in an assault earlier in the evening where a firearm was present.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and the four people were arrested. Upon further search of the vehicle, police located open alcohol, a loaded firearm, and an imitation firearm. As a result, three men aged 20, 25 and 18 as well as a 23-year-old woman are facing a number of firearm and weapons related charges.
