A great way to start a string of six straight road games for the Saskatoon Blades Friday night.
Ben Riche (pictured) scored at 1:37 of overtime as the Bridge City Bunch out-lasted the Wheat Kings 4-3 in Brandon. It was the 19-year-old Bethune product’s second goal of the game. Add in an assist and Riche is tied for the scoring lead in the W-H-L with Vancouver forward Cameron Schmidt, each with 21 points. Line-mates Brandon Lisowsky and Tyler Parr also tallied for the Blue and Gold – now 10-2-1 for the season, leading the entire league. Lisowsky added two assists for a three-point game as well. The Blades never trailed, but the Wheaties kept coming back to tie the score on three different occasions, setting the stage for Riche’s winner. Saskatoon out-shot Brandon 40-37. The Bridge City Bunch’s next five games, all on the road, are a tour of the B-C Division which begins Friday, November 1 in Langley, B-C against the Vancouver Giants. Following are audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast plus Les Lazaruk’s Post-Game Show interviews with Riche and head coach Dan Da Silva, as well as the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L…..
