By the numbers, there are seven registered political parties in Saskatchewan including the Buffalo Party, NDP, PC Party of Saskatchewan, the Greens, Saskatchewan Party, Sask Progress Party, which is formerly the Liberals, and the Saskatchewan United Party.
There are a total of 243 candidates across 61 constituencies. The Saskatchewan Party and the NDP have a full slate of 61 candidates running in all constituencies, the Green Party is fielding 58 candidates, the Saskatchewan United Party with 31, the Buffalo Party has 16 candidates running, a dozen candidates are running for the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan while the Progress Party has three candidates in this election.
Elections Saskatchewan says there were 810, 816 registered voters as of October 20th in Saskatchewan with 273,010 casting a vote earlier in the week which includes the 20,417 mail-in ballots received by the deadline.
