Broadview RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a business in Whitewood which became a carjacking with injuries. This is shortly before midnight Monday.
Their investigation determined an individual was parked outside of the business when a man approached the vehicle, deployed bear spray at the victim, physically forced him from the vehicle, stole the vehicle and hit the victim with it as he fled. The man who was car jacked was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located the vehicle on the Cowessess First Nation. They activated their emergency lights and sirens and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop immediately, but later came to a stop and the four occupants fled on foot.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft System arrived to assist resulting in the arrest of two of four suspects. No charges have been laid against them at this time. While Broadview RCMP continue to search for suspects they are looking for one person in particular and a description and photo are in our online story.
The suspect is described as approximately 25 to 30 years old and six feet tall. He was last seen wearing a white/grey hoodie and sweat pants. Broadview RCMP ask members of the public to report all sightings of the suspect and information on his identity, but do not approach him.
If seen contact Broadview RCMP immediately by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
