The Regina Police Service held its fourth ‘progressive policing’ initiative earlier this week, after a community perceptions survey last year highlighted a need for increased police presence and a focus on issues such as alcohol and drugs.
A news release from the Police Service says over 120 members engaged with residents and business owners in the Rosemont and Mount Royal neighbourhoods.
The goal of the program is to gain a better understanding of community concerns and build relationships.
There were 97 business interactions, 143 residential and 19 on-street interactions.
There were also 47 traffic stops, 17 tickets issues, 22 warnings, one mandatory alcohol test and one field sobriety test.
