This Sunday members from different Church denominations will gather together to celebrate at an interfaith Christmas concert to promote peace, love and understanding.
Kevin Ledding, the Leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Saskatoon says we live in a time when there’s no shortage of things that are divisive. So he says several churches in Saskatoon and area are coming together to celebrate what they have in common.
Ledding says among those participating are Christ the Healer Gospel Church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the Greystone Singers, the Osler Community Church, St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and of course the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Ledding says the concert is free. “And then the other part of this, it’s not mandatory, but if people wish to bring a non-perishable food item for the Saskatoon Food Bank we will be collecting that as well and we’ll happily forward that on anyone’s behalf if they are able to bring but it is not mandatory, you’re welcome just to come and there will be refreshments provided afterwards at no charge,” he explained.
You can pre-register for the Interfaith Christmas concert: In Excelsis Deo on Eventbrite. It takes place Sunday from 6 to 7 pm at the Cumberland Chapel at the corner of Cumberland Avenue and 10th Street.
