The Prince Albert Police Service says in a news release that it recognizes Saskatchewan has one of the highest rates of interpersonal violence in Canada and is committed to addressing the issue in the community and working with community partners to ensure supports are in place for victims of domestic and interpersonal violence.
Prince Albert police officers have charged a 29-year-old man with assault causing bodily harm in connection to an interpersonal violence investigation. On Sunday, officers responded to the hospital for a report of a female who had been assaulted. Police were told there had been a dispute earlier at a home in the 400 block of 27th Street East. She was treated for what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Prince Albert Police officers located the suspect where he was arrested without incident.
