The federal carbon tax will continue to be kept off of Saskatchewan resident’s home heating bills in 2025.

Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy, Jeremy Harrison, introduced this year’s edition of The SaskEnergy Amendment Act in the Legislature yesterday. The affordability measure will save families $480 in 2025, according to the province.

Harrison says, “Our government will keep fighting until the carbon tax is removed everywhere, on everything, for everyone.”

The removal first came into effect on January 1st, 2024, in response to the federal government’s decision to stop charging the carbon tax on home heating oil, which mainly benefits families in Atlantic Canada.
