Following several reports of relationships between colleagues and conflicts at Regina hospitals, the provincial government is stepping in.
The Ministry of Health has contracted two consultants, one from Ontario and one from Nova Scotia, to conduct an independent external review of the Regina hospital environment.
They will start by conducting virtual interviews with local leaders within the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the College of Medicine, in an effort to examine the challenges experienced by staff inside Regina hospitals.
Early next year, the pair will visit Regina to follow up with in-person interviews with local medical staff. Subsequent recommendations will be provided to the ministry and SHA.
The consultants’ work is expected to wrap up by spring of 2025.
