The South Saskatchewan River is being searched for a 48-year-old man missing since November 23rd.
The coordinated search is being conducted by the Saskatoon Police Service and the Saskatoon Fire Department. It is occurring north of the University Bridge and extending beyond the CP Rail Bridge.
Police believe Derick Sarazin may be in the river and that foul play is not a factor.
A significant number of emergency services personnel are near the weir and the public is being asked to avoid the area. Due to the size of the search area and winter conditions, it is possible the search could last several days.
