The Prince Albert Police Service has released a security video image of a person of interest in a Family/Grandparent/Friend emergency scam.
Officers are currently investigating multiple reports in the area.
With this scam, a potential victim, often an older or vulnerable adult, gets a phone call from someone claiming to be a family member or friend in an emergency and needing money. The fraudsters often work in tandem, and connect the victim to another person claiming to be a police officer, lawyer or doctor to give them the money or whatever currency they ask for.
The Prince Albert Police Services encourages families and friends to discuss these scams to spread awareness and prevent victimization.
The picture of the person of interest is with this story online.
