Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck has written to the Premier offering to work together to respond to Donald Trump’s threat of 25 per cent tariffs.

Beck is suggesting a Team Saskatchewan approach saying that it is time to put partisan interests aside for the sake of Saskatchewan.

Describing as defending the province and the livelihood of its residents she suggests that the story of Saskatchewan’s natural resources such as uranium, potash, oil and agricultural products is part of the intertwined trade relationship between Canada and the U.S.

She also says that with the current instability in Ottawa there is a need for provincial leaders to work together ensuring “Saskatchewan’s voice is heard as part of a broader Team Canada strategy.”
