The Raiders played Wednesday at SaskTel Centre like a team that was very unhappy with losing to their arch-rivals two days earlier at home as Prince Albert doubled the Saskatoon Blades 6-3.

Back-stopped by 20-year-old goaltender Max Hildebrand, the Raiders withstood an early barrage from the Bridge City Bunch, in front of 5,626 fans on New Year’s Day, then scored the game’s first five goals on the way to improving their record to 18-12-3. Aiden Oiring paced P-A with two goals and two assists – Brayden Dube, Niall Crocker and Tomas Mrsic each posted a goal and a helper while Riley Boychuk chipped in a tally as well. Ben Riche scored twice for the Blue and Gold, now 20-11-4 for the season, with Copper Williams adding the other Blades’ goal as Saskatoon had a three-game winning streak ended, as well as a run of five consecutive head-to-head victories over the Raiders. Brandon Lisowsky and Tyler Parr each chipped in two assists. Lisowsky extended his consecutive-game points streak to 13 games while Riche is on a six-game run. The Bridge City Bunch return to action Friday when they entertain the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7 o’clock at SaskTel Centre.
