A firearm and two machetes were seized during a weapons call in Prince Albert early Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:25 a.m. on January 19, 2025, police were called to a business in the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue West and the initial information indicated a male had a firearm in his backpack.

Arriving officers quickly located a male matching the suspect description outside the business where he was detained for a weapons investigation. Police say a search of his backpack turned up the weapons.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with careless use of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
