Those looking to learn more about Saskatoon’s history, or even their own, are invited to the Western Development Museum for the 37th Annual Saskatoon Heritage Festival.
Festival Coordinator Raeanne Van Beek says the hall will be lined with nearly 40 exhibitors, including the City of Saskatoon Archives, the Ukranian Museum of Canada, and the Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts.
“We also have live entertainment on two stages, some local musicians, fantastic local dance troupes, as well we have an afternoon speaker series with three presentations that deal with different aspects of Saskatoon’s heritage.”
Van Beek says not only will you be able to learn about Saskatoon’s history, but you will also be able to gain insight on your own family history.
“If people are really interested in learning more about their own personal histories, we have the Archives pavilion, both the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society Saskatoon Branch as well as Metis Nation Saskatchewan will be there.”
It is an all-ages event, as children can enjoy balloon twisting and face painting, and the day of events is free to attend.
Doors are open between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
