Welcome to country music’s new favourite conspiracy theory.
Back in December 2024, a radio host out of Vancouver named Docc Andrews casually pointed out that Zach Top was born nine months after an Alan Jackson concert in Washington state.
The mustaches? Identical.
The cowboy hats? Suspiciously similar.
The classic ’90s country twang? You uh… see where I’m going with this?
Social media took the joke and ran, even editing Zach’s Wikipedia page to list Alan as his dad.
Zach isn’t exactly denying it either – when asked about the rumors, he leaned right in:
Watch on TikTok
“Oh, it’s more than a rumor… My parents won’t answer me straight.”
Now, with Alan and Zach set to share the stage on Jackson’s Last Call: One More for the Road tour, we imagine this will be solved soon. Will it be the most awkward moment ever? Or the most heartefelt? Regardless – it’ll happen quick – as Zach say’s he’s just going to straight up ask him.
“I’m just gonna go up and say, ‘Hi, Daddy. I missed you.’”
Will Alan laugh? Panic? Jump out a nearby window? Only time will tell.
Of course, in reality, Alan Jackson has three daughters and no known sons. But that hasn’t stopped fans from playing along. Even Zach’s song lyrics are being dissected for clues. Though with lines like “cryin’ Chattahoochee at birth.” on his track Sounds Like the Radio… he’s not exactly being subtle.
We’ll update you when they go on tour and this glorified episode of Maury finally wraps up.
