The 30th annual Share the Warmth Days from SaskEnergy is wrapping up with more than a thousand bags of essential items distributed to those in need through charitable organizations across the province. As well, In recognition of the 30th anniversary, SaskEnergy doubled its annual grants to $100,000 for charitable organizations, to help keep people warm.
SaskEnergy’s Supervisor of Community Engagement, Allix Schweitzer, says handing out essential items, serving hot meals, and providing important services helps those most vulnerable during our cold, prairie winters. The Share the Warmth program began in 1994 as a Sweater Recycling Project which over the years redistributed nearly one-million articles of warm clothing across the province and now the program provides funding to organizations that help those most in need.
