In an effort to grow Saskatchewan trade opportunities in the face of American tariffs, the minister of trade and export development is heading overseas.
Warren Kaeding is leading a delegation to Vietnam and Singapore to see if Saskatchewan can increase investment attraction and highlight the province’s ability to support the food and energy goals of nations around the world. Last year, Saskatchewan exported $130.6 million and $10.3 million worth of goods to Vietnam and Singapore respectively.
The crew will also be attending the Canada in Asia Conference, which brings together stakeholders and policy makers to discuss agri-foods, food security, clean technology, and energy transitions.
The delegation hopes to recruit labour and encourage immigration during the trip.
