The Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canadian Women’s Curling Championship, continues today and runs through Sunday at Thunder Bay, Ontario. A total of 18 teams are taking part, split into two pools of nine teams each for preliminary round-robin play. The top three teams from both pools advance to the playoffs. Saskatchewan is represented by the Nancy Martin foursome from the Saskatoon-Nutana curling club. They have 3 wins, 2 losses…tied for 3rd place in Pool A. On their schedule today…
2 p.m. – Saskatchewan vs Alberta-Kayla Skrlik
The 2025 Canadian Under-18 Girls and Boys Curling Championships continue today at the Nutana Curling Club and run through Sunday. There are supposed to be 42 teams taking part – 21 in each gender division, split into three pools of seven teams each for round-robin preliminary play before 12 teams, four from each pool, advance to single knock-out playoffs. However, travel issues have stymied several teams from the Atlantic provinces from arriving in Saskatoon. There are four teams from Saskatchewan taking part. Two girls teams are skipped by Kaylee Hogeboom of Moose Jaw and Renee Wood of Saskatoon-Sutherland. The two boys teams are skipped by Brandon Weiss of Esterhazy and Dayne Heisler of Moose Jaw. Draws go at 8:30 a.m., 12:30, 4:30 and 8:30 p.m.
