Monday is the first of a four-day inquest into the death of 28-year-old Dillon McDonald, who died after being shot by RCMP officers at Montreal Lake Cree Nation on December 14th of 2021. It is being held at King’s Bench Court in Prince Albert.
The purpose of an inquest is to establish who died, when and where that person died, and the medical cause and manner of death. Recommendations could come forth to prevent similar deaths from taking place in the future.
