A 25-year-old man has been charged after bear mace was discharged inside a residence on the Red Earth Cree Nation.

Officers from the Carrot River RCMP Detachment responded to a call made just before two o’clock on Sunday afternoon.

A man failed to exit the house and extended a can of bear mace outside the window, spraying it in the direction of officers. None of the officers were injured and the man was later arrested.

Twenty-five year old Rushawn Whitecap from the Red Earth Cree Nation faces several charges, including being wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a November 2024 assault.
