There was a coordinated, nationwide police initiative targeting child sexual abuse and exploitation offenders between February 17th and the 28th, leading to 106 arrests across the country and 37 children safeguarded. In Saskatchewan, five people were arrested and are facing child pornography-related charges.
A news release from the Saskatchewan ICE Unit lists the suspects as 36-year-old Peter Palmer and 38-year-old Nikola Ecim, both from Regina, 36-year-old Kieran Stevenson-Hastings of Moose Jaw, 25-year-old Blaisen Nicotine of Red Earth Cree Nation, and 66-year-old Donald Church of Lloydminster.
Nikola Ecim is facing firearms-related charges along with child pornography charges and Blaisen Nicotine is also facing extra charges that include sexual assault, indecent act an invitation to sexual touching.
