On Saturday afternoon shortly after 2, Prince Albert RCMP responded to a report of an injured man walking approximately 10 kilometres from Prince Albert.
EMS and RCMP located the injured man who they say had been driving a truck when he came across another man walking on the side of the road and offered him a ride, but the passenger assaulted the driver who got out of his truck and the passenger drove off with it. The two men didn’t know each other and the victim went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The stolen truck was located travelling southbound on Highway #2 towards the City of Prince Albert with several people inside. When officers tried to pull the truck over it sped off into the City of Prince Albert.
Later the same day the stolen truck was located heading eastbound on Highway 302. A tire deflation device punctured all four tires, but the truck continued to flee, albeit at a reduced speed. It was finally stopped in the City of Prince Albert where two men and a woman were arrested at the scene with assistance from Prince Albert Police.
