There were 15,695 Red Light Camera tickets issued in Saskatoon in 2024. That is slight higher than the year previous with 1,110 of those given to out of province drivers while the rest were all from Saskatchewan.
In Saskatoon red light cameras are located at Preston Avenue and 8th Street, Warman Road and 51st Street, Avenue C and Circle Drive, and 33rd Street and Idylwyld Drive.
A red-light camera ticket will set you back $230 but there are no demerits on your driver’s license. The data was part of a report going to the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioner’s today Thursday.
In terms of distracted driving there were a total of 1,789 violations last year and using a cell phone while driving made up 1,491 of those tickets.
In terms of collisions causing property damage, there were 4,075 in 2024. The five-year average is 3,893. 621 resulted in personal injury which is the most compared to any one of the previous four years and there were nine fatalities which is tied with 2022 for the greatest number of deaths connected to motor vehicle collisions in the last five years.
