Grasslands Group of Companies has acquired Prairie Berries Inc., Canada’s largest grower, processor and manufacturer of Saskatoon berries.
A news release from Grasslands Group says this is an exciting step forward in expanding Saskatchewan’s agricultural products to global markets.
CEO of Grasslands Group, Sandy Zielinski, says, “As Saskatchewan-based companies, this acquisition is meaningful to us – it allows us to honour the work that’s been done, support local agriculture, and expand the global reach of Canada’s exceptional elite berry.”
Prairie Berries has retail products available in select Saskatchewan stores and has wholesale offerings as well.
Regina-based Grasslands Group focuses on the agrifood industry, specializing in organic and specialty crop brokering and has expanded to include the trading of products for both local and global markets.
