The federal and provincial governments are again offering organizations a chance to utilize from the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls community response fund.
Community groups that work to prevent violence and create safety for Indigenous women and girls are encouraged to apply. In recent years, $400,000 has been allocated to the fund, however this year, that amount has been doubled thanks to an investment from Women and Gender Equality Canada.
Some of the programs that have come out of the fund in past years include an Indigenous parenting program, a feast and round dance honouring those who are missing and murdered, an honourary mural, and a youth awareness workshop.
The deadline to apply for the first intake is May 31st, and the deadline for the second intake is November 10th.
