The 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Women’s Hockey Championship is idle today, running through Sunday in Czechia, and continues early tomorrow with quarter-final games. The field of 10 national teams has been reduced to eight for straight knockout playoffs following completion of the preliminary round-robin. Among the eight teams still alive is Canada, who finished the round robin with 3 wins, 1 loss for 9 points…good for 2nd place in Pool A. Saskatoon product Emily Clark is on the Canadian roster. The 2025 Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate’s Senior Badminton City Championships are on today, starting at 1 p.m., at Walter Murray Collegiate. Competition takes place in girls and boys singles, girls and boys doubles plus mixed doubles. As well, there is a trophy for the top school overall. Plus, the top two singles finishers and the top two duos in doubles will advance to the S-H-S-A-A regionals on May 3rd at Walter Murray.
