Prince Albert Police Service and Saskatchewan RCMP worked together Saturday to track down suspects connected to a drive by shooting.
The weapons call came in around 7:00 p.m. from the 800 block of 12th Street West. Police were told four people got out of a vehicle and fired a gun a at house before getting back in the vehicle fleeing southbound.
The suspect vehicle was located but would not pull over when a traffic stop was attempted. In a news release, PAPS says because of the severity of the prior incident, officers continued their pursuit.
The vehicle sped out of the city and RCMP were notified as it travelled north of Prince Albert on Highway 2. Police say the suspect vehicle turned back towards Prince Albert which is when one of the people inside was seen looking out the window and began to shoot at police.
The pursuit continued down Highway 55 East and the shooting at officers also continued before the vehicle turned into Little Red River Park where it was boxed in by police vehicles. A 32-year-old man, two 30-year-old men, 21-year-old man, and 28-year-old woman have been charged with multiple firearms related charges, discharging a firearm with intent, assaulting peace officers, evading police, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The 32-year-old man also faces drug related charges.
