Released Thursday, numbers from Statistics Canada indicate that Saskatchewan’s retail trade saw a 6.4 per cent increase year-over-year in May 2025 over May 2024.
This uptick places the province above the national average of 4.9 per cent and tied for second amongst the provinces.
With the increase, Saskatchewan’s retail trade value is sitting at $2.3 billion as of May 2025.
Retail sales is a measure of total receipts at stores, or establishments, that sell goods and services to final consumers.
