Prince Albert RCMP received a report on July 24, 2025, around 9:00 a.m. of a wanted man, believed to be armed, who was seen on highway #2 near Diefenbaker Bridge. Officers located the vehicle in Redwing, Saskatchewan and activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment, surrounding the vehicle with their vehicles. This led to the suspect vehicle driving in reverse, hitting one of the police vehicles, then drove forward hitting a second police vehicle. The suspect then drove into a nearby ditch where it became immobilized which led to police finding a loaded rifle. A man and two women were arrested and have been charged with multiple offences.
The officers in the police vehicles at the time of the incident were not physically injured. The police vehicles were extensively damaged.
As a result of continued investigation, 33-year-old Germaine Michel from Southend is charged with:
- one count, flight from peace officer,
- three counts, mischief over $5000,
- four counts, operation while prohibited,
- one count, refusal to comply with alcohol demand,
- one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle,
- two counts, assault on police officer with a weapon,
- one count, resists/obstruct peace officer,
- one count, being unlawfully at large,
- one count, unsafe storage of a firearm,
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized,
- one count, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, and
- one count, weapons possession contrary to order
Germaine Michel was also arrested on outstanding warrants from Prince Albert Police Service and Correctional Service Canada.
31-year-old Shelby Donald from Prince Albert is charged with:
- one count, unsafe storage of a firearm,
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized,
- one count, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle,
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, and
- one count, failure to comply with release order condition.
25-year-old Jonie Michel from Southend is charged with:
- one count, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle,
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized,
- one count, unsafe storage of a firearm,
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, and
- three counts, failure to comply with release order condition.
Germaine Michel appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 24, 2025. Shelby Donald and Jonie Michel appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 25, 2025.
