If you’ve seen social media posts of Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe endorsing online investment platforms and wondered if it’s real or not – yeah, it’s a scam!
So says the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA). In a news release, the FCAA says Premier Moe doesn’t endorse or advertise any investment platforms.
The FCAA adds that investors and consumers shouldn’t send monies to companies that are not registered in Saskatchewan, as they might not be legitimate business. Individuals or companies need to be registered with the FCAA in order to sell or trade securities or derivatives in Saskatchewan.
Anyone who has come in contact with individuals or companies that claim to be endorsed by public figures for their investment platforms, or anyone claiming to be acting on their behalf, should contact the FCAA’s Securities Division at 306-787-5936.
