Nine Saskatchewan communities remain under an evacuation order, according to the daily update from the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.
Tuesday’s SPSA news release added that there are 85 active wildfires in the province as of 10:30 a.m. with 17 not contained. Five are listed as contained, 43 are ongoing assessments and 20 are listed as protecting values. The total number of wildfires reported this year in Saskatchewan is now at 464, compared to 469 last year at this same date – both figures well above the five-year average of 369.
