It’s a self-described “ambitious” goal of four million dollars that the United Way Saskatoon and area has set for fund raising in order to support 40 local community programs and initiatives.
The fund-raising goal was announced as part of the Community Block Party kick off to the 2025 Annual Campaign on Tuesday. According to a news release from United Way Saskatoon and area, their recent multi-year funding application call received four times the projected budget, creating a two-pronged issue for the nonprofit organization. One, it means saying no to some projects and organizations and, two, the United Way will need to dig deeper this year to make good on their promises to the chosen organizations and initiatives. “This year, we heard loud and clear that the need is great and United Way support is needed now more than ever,” said United Way Saskatoon and area C-E-O Sheri Benson. “But, it will take every one of us to make four million dollars happen.”
