On Friday afternoon, Saskatoon Police were called to a report of an injured person in the 300 block of Avenue H South where officers located a man suffering from various injuries. He told police he’d been walking in the area and was approached by two people, believed to be known to him, and was then assaulted with a bladed weapon and a stick. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspects fled the area.
And on Saturday over the noon hour, police responded to another injured person report in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue south where they found a man with several stab wounds. He was transported to hospital and at the time the injuries were believed to be non-life threatening. Police say an altercation occurred between the suspect and the victim when the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. A suspect was tracked down a short time later in the 100 block of 4th Avenue South.
A 16-year-old male was arrested, and police say he was in possession of a folding knife. The accused has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon to commit an offence, and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon.
