The victim of a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision near Nipawin last week turned out to be a man previously reported missing from the area.
On October 2 at 6:00 a.m., Nipawin RCMP were called to a crash involving a pedestrian on Highway #55, east of Nipawin.
Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Courtnall Flett from Shoal Lake Cree Nation dead at the scene. The driver remained at the site, and they did not report injuries to police.
Courtnall was previously reported missing to Nipawin RCMP. His family has been notified and Victim Services made available to them.
Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
