The Western Development Museum is turning their Boom Town area into Boo Town this Halloween season with plenty of events planned during the spooky season.
One of the events the museum is putting on in Boo Town is a Spooky Stroll will run from October 25th to 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. During the Spooky Stroll, kids can go to Boo Town and look for nine Halloween flags hidden around the exhibit.
WDM Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Jakob Martens says that events like Spooky Stroll are meant to give children something to do on Halloween that is age-appropriate.
“The museum will be fully decorated, but we go for spooky, not scary. So this is definitely a family-oriented event, this isn’t the scariest haunted house you’ve ever been to, this is definitely something you can bring and should bring the littles too. Fun for all ages.”
Martens adds that family focused events like the Spooky Stroll are part of the museum’s efforts to promote themselves as a place that is open to everyone.
“We want to share Saskatchewan’s history with the public, but we also want to be a place of community where people feel they are welcome all the time. In order to do that, we have a variety of things going on. Really this is just a way we can engage with community.”
Along with Spooky Stroll, the WDM will host a Boo Town trick or treat on Halloween from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
