The Saskatoon Police Service has been busy closing old cases and investigations.
A trio of news releases from the S-P-S issued Tuesday afternoon shows recent arrests connected to incidents from June, August and September. The June 16th incident was a stabbing of a male victim in the 300 block of Avenue R South. Officers learned that another male had been stabbed just shortly before that in the same area. The S-P-S Serious Assault Unit has charged a 19-year-old male with two counts of assault. Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man faces several firearms-related charges in connection to an August 13th incident in which officers were called to the 2100 block of 20th Street West for the report of a firearm being discharged. There was damage to a nearby camper, but no injuries reported. The suspect is charged with assault with a weapon, careless use of firearm, unauthorized possession of firearm, discharging a firearm, assault and two counts prohibited possession of firearm. And, the third arrest was executed on September 30th as the Warrant Enforcement Unit took a 26-year-old woman into custody following an investigation into a stabbing on September 12th. A 33-year-old female victim was found receiving treatment for multiple stab wounds suffered in the 1600 block of 20th Street West. The suspect is charged with aggravated assault and breaching court-imposed conditions.
