A mid-afternoon fire in a building the Rural Municipality of Corman Park caused five figures worth of damage on Wednesday.
According to a Saskatoon Fire Department news release, a crew responded at 2:38 p.m. to a report of black smoke coming from a commercial building on Range Road 3052. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from an overhead door and discovered the building’s air handling system had caught fire. All occupants had safely evacuated before crews began putting out the smoldering filters. The fire was fully extinguished by 3:32 p.m. with damage estimated at approximately $10,000. The cause of the fire is unknown.
