The Ministry of Health and the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists launched a two-year Glaucoma Care Pilot Program on October 1st.

The initiative expands publicly funded glaucoma services to include care provided by licenced optometrists.

The purpose of the initiative is to give Saskatchewan residents, especially those in rural and remote parts of the province, greater access to assessment, diagnostic testing and follow up services for glaucoma delivered by licensed optometrists.
